Vikingarännet 80 km
Vikingarännet 2012 takes place 19th February, starting in Uppsala (Skarholmen) and finishing in Alvik. Should the wind change to a strong south wind, the race might be turned around. Please visit our web site for information. Start is from 8am to 10am. Participants pass places such as Erikssund, Sigtuna, Upplands-Väsby, Kungsängen and Kallhäll.

At 8am the competition class (men and women) starts and a licence is required. Prize money for the first three to finish. Uppsala county is the sponsor. Read more under “competition class”
8am is also the starting time for the non-competitive class without pikes/poles, with individual time registration. This year, there are going to be three groups with predetermined finishing time.
At 8.30, the non-competitive class with pikes/poles starts,men and women.
Everybody can start to 10am.
To skate the 80 km, you need to be an experienced skater. The registration fee varies depending on when you register and possible discounts.

Vikingaturen 50 km
If you are unsure of your skating ability, we recommend Vikingaturen. The start is the same place as Vikingarännet (80 km) and usually finishes in Kungsängen, close to the station for the comuter train to Stockholm.
It has the same non-competitive classes as Vikingarännet, with or without pikes/poles and men and women.

Vikingarännet “kortis”, short race, 20-30 km
This is the family friendly option. It is perfect if you want to go at a slower pace and you are a less experienced skater. Vikingarännet “kortis” starts in Kungsängen and finishes in Alvik. The start in at “Kungsängens Båtklubb”, 500 meters south of the commuter stattion. You can start between 11.30 am and 13.00 pm and the track is approx. 28 km. Vikingarännet “kortis”, short race, Sigtuna, 20-30 km
This is the family friendly alternative at the beginning of the track. It is perfect if you want to go at a slower pace and you want to finish in Sweden’s oldest town, Sigtuna.

You start where Vikingarännet starts, in Uppsala, Skarholmen between 9 am and 9.30 am. The length of the race is approx. 30 km.

Vikingastafetten (relay) 4 people
Form a team and share Vikingarännet! For your company, friends or family. It follows the same course as Vikingarännet, 80 km, but are divided in to 4 stretches, 20 km each. The stretches are: 1. Skarholmen-Sigtuna approx. 30 km, 2. Sigtuna-Kungsängen approx. 21km, 3. Kungsängen-Hässelby approx. 16 km and 4. Hässelby-Alvik approx. 13 km.
We need to have names on all participants in the team and the distances can be argeed within the team. One person is contact person and responsible for registration and payment. At each “changeover station” is a sign and a steward with a list of all participants. The chip and number label are passed on to next skater in the team.

Tjejrännet (women only) 40-50 km
This years new distance, Tjejrännet, skating race only for women! Have a great day on the ice with your girlfriends at a slower pace. The start is in Sweden’s oldest town, Sigtuna, between 10am and 11am. The finish is where Vikingarännet will finish, more information on our web page closer to the race. Tjejrännet has two classes, with or without pikes/poles.
You have to sign up for “Tjejrännet” latest on Saturday 18th February. The start is in Sigtuna harbour, between 10 am and 11 am. Finish is in Alvik.
