
Competition class 2012
This class is for fast and experienced skaters. You need a license to take part in this class. The class is divided in men and women.
Placing of number labels
Number labels should be clearly visible on the chest or on the front of the leg. This is to make the participants easily identifiable to the stewards.
Chip
All participants get a chip for time keeping. This has to be tied to the shoelaces.
Prizes
The three first skaters will get a prize in the competitive class.
The first skater to pass Sigtuna will get a travelprize provided by Swedavia.
Equipment
All types of skates are allowed. Ice prods are compulsory. Pikes or poles are not allowed in the competition class.
Competition rules
A competition umpire makes sure competitors follow the applicable parts of International Skating Union (ISU).
Withdrawal
If you withdraw from the race, you need to tell a steward as soon as possible. Your chip has to be returned to the nearest service station, where you also get help with transportation to the finish. Please try and use public transport in Sigtuna, Kungsängen or Hässelby.
Result
The results will be shown in the finish area and will also be available at vikingarannet.com.
Time keeping
All competitors completing the race will have their time registered.
Marking of the distance
Distance will be marked every 5 kilometers down to Kungsängen. From Kungsängen to the finish, every kilometer will be marked.
Seeding
In case of a large number of participants, the organiser has the right to seed the staring field.
