Management group

Vikingarännet is run by a secretariat commissioned by the organizing bodies, Friluftsfrämjandet and Svenska Skridskoförbundet. The senior responsibility in the secretariat is held by the General Secretary (GS). In the steering group for Vikingarännet, there are two representatives from each of the organisations,  Friluftsfrämjandet and Svenska Skridskoförbundet.

The limited company, Vikingarännet AB (VRMAB) is commissioned to undertake the sponsorship and marketing work for the race by the steering group for Vikingarännet. VRMAB is controlled by a board with two representatives from each of the organisations, Friluftsfrämjandet and Svenska Skridskoförbundet. Here, the Managing Director (MD) is in charge.

The co-operating associations are responsible for carrying out most of the work. There are about 300-400 stewards involved in the work of Vikingarännet. The associations will be reimbursed by Vikingarännet for the costs of this work. Below is a list of the categories required for Vikingarännet. One (or more) of the associations have responsibility for planning and execution, in addition to clearing up after the race.

The functions of the stewards are offered first to the organizing bodies (Friluftsfrämjandet and Svenska Skridskoförbundet). If some of the stewards’ functions in Vikingarännet can not be carried out by these organisations, these functions will be offered to organisations outside Vikingarännet.
